The Holiday Movie Season starts today November 7 with Interstellar and Big Hero battling it out for the #1 spot over the weekend. Even more Holiday Films will fill the stocking with holiday cheer throughout the season. Chris Rock produces, writes and directs the most buzzed about film of the holiday season Top Five. Jennifer Lawrence is ready to play Hunger Games:Catching Fire Part 1 to save Peeta. A singer is ready to be known Beyond The Lights,  and Matthew McConaughey travels through a wormhole. 1. Top Five hits theaters on December 12! The plot is really intriguing about a comedian ready to be taken seriously but his fiance is ready to film their wedding for the world to see on Bravo!? The poster below shows an amazing all star cast sent from comedy heaven: Sherri Sheppard, Tracy Morgan, Rosario Dawson, Gabrielle Union, Cedric The Entertainer, Whoopi Goldberg, J.B. Smoove, Romany Malco, Leslie Jones, and Karlie Redd. With a cast this full of comedians this is destined to be the sleeper hit of the holiday season. It’s already the most talked about!

2. Love & Basketball released back in 1999 set Sanaa Lathan and Omar Epps careers on fire. Writer- director Gina Prince-Bythewood is ready to work the same magic again with Rom-drama Beyond The Lights in theaters November 14 2014. A truly good premise; sort of this generations The Bodyguard. The two leads Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Nate Parker will be known in ever household around the country after the release. Sanaa Lathan and Omar Epps careers elevated to new heights after Love & Basketball in 1999.Once again proving African Americans can carry films outside of Tyler Perry and Denzel Washington. Slowly but surely more and more black films will start to surface over the next two years.

3. Christopher Nolan the mastermind behind The Dark Knight trilogy releases his sci-fi drama Interstellar in theaters November 7 2014. Plot is basically to infinity and beyond to use a wormhole to pass limitations on space travel or stay with your family at home! Let’s hope that it is better than the film ‘Gravity’. Sci-fi seems hard to pull off these days. Nolan should be the guy to get the job done.

4. Marking the first-ever adaptation of one of Pynchon’s novels, Inherent Vice begins when when private eye Doc Sportello’s ex-old lady show up and lures her ex-boyfriend in a kidnapping scheme involving her billionaire married boyfriend. Paul Thomas Anderson  writes and directs. Starring: Joaquin Phoenix, Josh Brolin, Owen Wilson, Katherine Waterston, Reese Witherspoon, Benicio Del Toro, Martin Short, Jena Malone and Joanna Newson, Inherent Vice hits theaters on December 12.

5. ‘Into the Woods’ receives the Walt Disney Pictures twist  the Brothers Grimm fairy Tales. Some of the classic tales will include: Cinderalla, Little Red Ridding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, and Rapunzel. Each tale will be intertwined with a modern twist Walt Disney style. The incredible starring is: Meryl Streep, Johnny Depp, and Emily Blunt. December 25 2014  go into the woods to  witness this classic fairy tale!


6.Selma is about the civil rights movement that took place in 1965. The epic march from Selma to Montgomery. David Oyelowo is the lead starring as Martin Luther King Jr. and Looks rather good, considering it’s “another” civil rights movie. Finally a movie about Martin Luther King Jr.,Thank you Martin Luther king Jr. Oprah Winfrey, and Cuba Godding Jr. also star.In theaters Christmas Day December 25 2014.


7. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 is back for another round of battles this time Jennifer Lawrence is in District 13 to save her friend Peeta( Josh Hutcherson) from danger. This one looks good but maybe fatigue is starting to set in as the last film was released in November 2013. The storyline seems like a set-up for a real rushed ending in preparation of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2. Looks can be deceiving. In theaters November 21 2014


8. A solider and two crewman along for the ride survive 47 days on a raft. Talk about survival and resilience in the most daring circumstances. Universal Pictures releases Unbroken an epic  story of redemption December 25 2014. Angelina Jolie in directorial debut is supported by the incredible writing of the Joel & Ethal Coen. Louis “Louis” Zamperini the war hero true life story appears to be in excellent hands.


9. Horrible Bosses 2 reunites Jason Bateman, Charlie Day and Jason Sudeikis in theaters November 26 2014. Scheming an elaborate new kidnapping scheme. Christopher Waltz and Chris Pine are the new targets in the follow up to the successful 2011 comedy.


10. The Gambler stars a younger looking Mark Walhberg  who takes a loan that causes all kinds of mayhem to ensue. Will this be the risk takers last thrill? This gambler loves the risks. Jessica Lange and John Goodman also star in this drama in theaters December 19 2014.
